Notice on the 2024 winter vacation and Chinese New Year holiday arrangements

Various colleges (departments), campuses, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers:

According to the academic calendar, January 13 to February 25, 2024 is the winter vacation.

According to Chinese "Spring Festival" customs, February 8 to February 18, 2024 is the Chinese Spring Festival holiday.

Now according to the characteristics of our school and each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers. The work arrangements during the holidays are now as follows:

1. Time arrangement

(1) Student vacation

The student vacation period is from January 13th to February 23rd. Registration will be on February 24th and February 25th, and classes will officially begin on February 26th.

(2) Vacation for faculty and staff

The faculty and staff are on vacation from January 20th to February 22nd. During the holidays, each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers arrange on-duty and rotational holidays. All faculty and staff will officially return to work on February 23.

(3) Duty and shift leave will be from February 8 to February 18, 2024. All campuses, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers shall follow the arrangements of the school headquarters, combined with their own actual conditions, and according to the living customs of the country (border) where they are located, and properly On duty and off duty.

2. Relevant work requirements

All major campuses, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers should make full use of the window period of student vacations and the Chinese New Year holiday, and focus on the following tasks:

(1) Summarize and plan the work for the next year

1. Hold a retreat. Carry out planning and service guarantee for special retreats and school leadership retreat meetings. All major campuses, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers should hold and organize the planning and holding of retreats and special retreats based on actual work conditions.

2. Do a good job in assessment work. Coordinate and promote the target management assessment, mid-level cadre performance assessment, annual assessment of faculty and staff, etc.

3. Prepare and submit the 2024 “Vision and Strategic Planning Coordination Report”. In accordance with the overall idea of "achieving work goals, implementing work measures, and implementing work plans", the school's core competitiveness indicators will be quantified and distributed, and the 2024 "Vision and Strategic Planning Coordination Report" will be systematically planned.

(2) Promote key tasks in depth

1. Carry out distance education teaching and course arrangements as well as review and evaluation work. In accordance with the evaluation and inspection standards for distance education, open education and jointly run courses, each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers have further improved the self-evaluation, self-constructed materials, self-review and tripartite evaluation procedures to condense features and work highlights.

2. Carry out solid curriculum development, teaching innovation and student, faculty and quality management work. Continue to carry out course certification, campus internationalization, education openness, research innovation and teaching research in 2024, strengthen the application of course certification projects, teaching and research guidance and review, and improve the quality of teaching, learning and research. Plan the construction of Chinese and English online teaching platforms. Continue to strengthen higher education’s mission of serving the scientific and technological society.

3. Continue to do a good job in recruiting talents. Solidly promote the introduction of PhDs, postdoctoral fellows, experts, scholars and distinguished professors in 2024.

4. Solidly promote the work related to the IPAS joint laboratory. We are preparing to hold the first meeting of the fourth academic committee of the IPAS Joint Laboratory, and continue to accelerate the expansion of member universities and sister universities of the IPAS Joint Laboratory through invitation and recommendation systems.

5. Make preparations for the spring semester of 2024. Implement teaching, research, study and life, and campus safety inspections.

(3) Carry out Spring Festival condolences and visits

1. Carry out visits and condolences to faculty members and specially appointed experts, teachers and scholars.

2. Effectively do a good job in visiting and visiting representatives of each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers, and non-staff experts.

3. Effectively provide condolences to students staying at the school and ensure their daily life.

(4) Do a good job in logistics support

1. To better serve students staying at the school and overseas students. Properly arrange vacation meals and accommodation for students (including international students) who stay on campus to participate in scientific research and internships.

2. Implement service guarantee. Carry out emergency plan drills during the winter vacation and Chinese New Year, ensure the maintenance and upkeep of coal and electricity pipelines, water and electricity equipment, campus green plants, etc., and strengthen dormitory management and environmental sanitation maintenance.

(5) Do a good job in campus safety and stability

1. Maintain campus safety and tranquility. We must do a good job in safety, fire prevention, and anti-theft work. Before the holidays, we must organize and carry out "full coverage, no blind spots" safety inspections, identify safety hazards, make timely rectifications, and formulate preventive measures. Carry out safety education for all teachers and students in each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers during the holidays, carry out in-depth safety education on the themes of personal property, traffic safety, fire safety, laboratory hazardous chemicals safety, etc., and organize students to sign holiday safety responsibility letters (Information letter) to enhance students’ safety awareness.

2. Do a good job in network security precautions. All campuses, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers must closely focus on the goals of information system network security and achieve "dedicated personnel, close monitoring, immediate response, and proper handling."

(6) Do a good job on duty and duty

1. Strictly implement the shift, vacation and outing reporting system for leaders and middle and senior managers of each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers. Adhere to the system of leadership guidance and on-duty general duty of middle and senior managers in each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers, and implement the holiday leadership and duty system of each secondary unit. The Security Department, Student Affairs Department, and Welfare Affairs Office implement a 24/7, non-stop duty system to ensure that all work during the winter vacation and Spring Festival is orderly and foolproof.

2. Each unit must strictly implement the duty system, and implement the system of at least one campus, directly affiliated institution and learning center leader leading the class, one middle-level and senior manager on duty and two staff members on duty every day.

3. Duty reports for winter vacation and Chinese New Year holiday for each campus, directly affiliated institutions and learning centers must be submitted to the dean’s office and provost’s office no later than January 15th, with a copy to the secretariat of the school board of directors.
